The famous local catch is the red prawns, which are only caught in this area of the Mediterranean Sea. Garrucha is famous for its magnificent golden sandy beach, the only blue flag town beach in Europe.

 Sorbas
The quaint village of Sorbas teeters on the edge of a deep ravine, looking down onto the Rio de Aguas. The limestone labyrinths of caves carved by water erosion are the area's main attraction, but the village is also renowned for its traditional pottery, using old Moorish ovens.
Although a desert region, the area has some surprisingly lush corners, where natural springs have created a mini-oasis of great ecological importance in the midst of a desert. It's worth following the walk along this river, to enjoy the contrast of the dry desert with this magnificent green corridor.
South of Sorbas is the very beautiful little Moorish town of Níjar famous for its superb handcrafts in pottery, ceramics and textiles Níjar has been described as one of the most picturesque towns in the whole of Spain. It therefore comes highly recommended as a place to see and should be on any self respecting visitor's itinerary

Bedar is a picturesque mountain village sitting on a pretty hillside setting, in a tranquil peaceful atmosphere. Known for its Moorish influence and narrow streets, you will be captured by its unspoilt beauty and charm.
Due to the village’s magnificent position over looking the Mediterranean Sea, you will not be disappointed by the panoramic views.
Los Gallardos is a sleepy little Spanish village, nestled between the Bedar mountain range and the valley down to the coast. You will find some great beach bars and restaurants along the beach and sea front. The surrounding countryside is stunning, with some spectacular caves.

Almanzora Valley

Two of the most interesting travel destinations in Turre are the 19th century Parish Church de la Purisima Concepcion and the Hermitage of San Francisco that was built in 1500s.

The old village of Cabrera has many great equestrian and sporting facilities. Sierra Cabrera mountains have become popular for excellent rock climbing activities that can be enjoyed, as well as horse riding, hiking, bird watching, golf, and even plain walking. Just at the foot of Sierra Cabrera one can find a golf course and private airfield at Cortijo Grande.

Carboneras

Carboneras is situated in one of the most beautiful places along the  coast. In ancient times, the treeless mountains that today surround the city were once a bound with large, leafy trees.

The beauty of this attractive city lies in the strong contrast between the mountainous terrain that surrounds it and the deep blue of the Mediterranean that bathes its beaches. Carboneras posseses a typical Arabic architectural style.

Carboneras has one of the most varied and attractive stretches of coastline. From unspoilt, secluded beaches where the visitor can find privacy, quietness and the beauty of the landscape, to busier beaches with all types of amenities within one's reach.
